The Look 585 OPTIMUM has all the same characteristics of the 585 Origin, but with a special geometry to achieve an even more comfortable ride. The top tube has been shortened by 15mm and the head tube heightened by 16mm, resulting in a more upright position.
Carbon
The use of VHM (Very High Modulus) carbon fiber allows construction of an ultra light frame that provides optimal rigidity. This lateral rigidity gives the frame excellent pedaling efficiency while not compromising vertical complaince. The result is a frame that is light weight, efficient, and comfortable.
=The bottom bracket is the heart of the frame. In order to maximize pedaling efficency, LOOK has developed a proprietary technique called ?Compressed Carbon Technology. The precise positioning of carbon fibers inside the mould combined with very high-pressure compression during the moulding process produces a very light and a very stiff bottom bracket shell. The weight of the bottom bracket is only 130g with a 170N/mm stiffness rating once the frame has been assembled. You feel the bike accelerate as you transmit power with each pedal stroke.
The LOOK Lug Tuned Technology reduces weight without compromising the frame stiffness and performance. The end result is a frame that weights 990g and provides Pro Tour level efficency.

Look HSC 5 SL Fork
The 100% carbon single-piece fork weighs 310g uncut and meets the new Standard EN 14781 safety test requirement (front impact of 144 joules). This truly unique ?monobloc' fork which is moulded as one piece from the top of the steerer tube to the tips of the dropouts. The fork also utilizes the Look pantented integrated conical carbon crown (45° bearing angle).
